Cruise Port IJmuiden

Ahoy!

At the entrance of the North Sea Canal lies IJmuiden, a dynamic maritime town with a raw, authentic character and a quietly proud seafaring heritage. From the two modern cruise terminals, Amsterdam is just a short journey away, while other highlights such as Haarlem, Alkmaar, Volendam and the iconic windmills of the Zaanse Schans are all comfortably within reach.

Whether you’re here to discover Dutch culture, explore iconic landscapes or simply enjoy the unhurried sight of arriving cruise ships, this website offers all the practical information you need (including an up-to-date arrivals calendar) to help ensure a smooth, enjoyable, and memorable visit.

Know Where To Go

IJmuiden has two cruise terminals with very similar names, which can be confusing, so always double-check your ship’s berth!

Most cruise ships dock at the modern and well-equipped Felison Cruise Terminal, right by the beach in IJmuiden aan Zee. Here, the sound of the waves and the view of the North Sea create a truly maritime welcome. The port is perfectly located for exploring not only nearby Dutch towns and cultural highlights but also the scenic coastline and charming seaside villages.

Only very few cruise ships use the smaller Felison Terminal, closer to the city center and next to the ferry terminal to Newcastle-upon-Tyne (DFDS Seaways).

Both cruise terminals are easy to reach by car or by bus from Amsterdam, Haarlem, or Beverwijk, since IJmuiden no longer has a train station. Check all routes, connections, fares, and schedules at www.9292ov.nl.

Whether you’re arriving for a cruise or planning to explore the Dutch coast, IJmuiden’s cruise terminals offer a convenient, welcoming gateway – where harbor, sea, and the spirit of the Low Lands come together.

Experience welcome the IJmuiden way!
